Default Why do people want Charr Carvings? O.o

Hallo! This may be a stupid question, but ever since I started playing and got to Piken Square, I've noticed people buy Charr Carvings at higher prices (Around 10-15g each). I've looked at the collectors, checked to see if they salvaged into anything special, and I still don't understand why people pay more for them. I thought about the +20Hp, Barbed Sword Hilt, & Charr Slaying mods that you can slavage off of the collector's items, but are they really worth enough to buy stacks of them? Please enlighten me if you can, thanks for your time!

Well usually when there's an event you can trade Charr carvings for holiday items.

.... and that means it would be hilarious if someone collected hundreds of them in preparation for an event and the collectors were changed.

Ah I didn't think about that, infact I didn't even know you could trade them in for anything other than weapons at the collector...Thanks!

That's exactly why you should farm your own. I farm HM Charra and HM Gates of Kryta for Charr carvings and decayed orr emblems. Along with them, I usually get 1-2k per run and some golds to ID for Wisdom as well as a couple of chests to open for TH/Lucky/Unlucky. If the collectors do change, I can save them for the next event or just merchant the stacks since a full character of charr carvings and decayed orr emblems is worth quite a bit (remember I'm still making a good bit per run from other drops).

I've been collecting singed gargoyle skulls from every event where mobs drop special items (recently bunnies and cupcakes)...I have a gargoyle herding build just for faming special drops....i also get dyes and gold.....I have six stacks of skulls saved up...when Winters Day swings around, I'll be set for quit a bit of goodies...that's just passive collecting. Makes me wonder what I could do if I concentrated on it....no surprise some folks might be thinking ahead with the carvings.
